Transit Visa is Not Required in Frankfurt. Infact I had renewed passport with all pages blank. At the transit one officer asked me On what Visa are you travelling to US?
I said I have Advance Parole.That's all. The Officers are nice and friendly. They know it.
Infact I visited German Consulate at BOSTON before travelling. The Consulate General was extreemly good and told me "Not to waste money on transit visa"

I have a valid AP approved on Oct 13, 2007. The H1B visa stamped on my passport expired in Mar 2007. I have a valid one year H1B approval till Mar 2008. I do not have the original I797 approval notice but have a scanned copy of it. Now if I have to travel out of country in July and enter back on AP will there be any trouble at the POE with not having the original approval notice of last H1B.
Any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure if I posted this on right forum....
I'm at 485/EAD stage. not on H1b anymore. I recently badly sprained and fractured my ankle/foot. Am considering taking a leave for maybe two weeks from work.
Question: does going on short term disability and getting benefits from the state have any adverse effect on the immigration process?

my wife has got H1 this year and
she wants to transfer to H4 as she got Ead and she
wants to use EAD .and still we didnt get AP.she wants
to leave to india in jan she dont have stamp in her

if we apply now for the conversion of H1 to H4 can
she leave to india now and can i send that approval
letter to india then she goes to stamping in india.

I am also waiting on the dates to open in December. The dates are not available on the internet as yet. I think they open the dates for 1 week every week .. so you can only book a month in advance.

I always wonder these ARAVAS deserve GC?
Because where ever they will make lot of fuss there and cause so many troubles to hosting country...
Srilanka they made a beautiful country as almost ash because of their perverted intensions..And Singapore they will never go with country's best interests...and Malaysia....
And even in India see the support to LTTE (Openly)
Also all most all these ARAVAs are blue collar cheap labor, I don�t know how a considerable number of Tamils getting h1b

I got married one year ago. My wife was born here and we filed my I-485 and I-130 and I-765 with her.
1- my office in CT state ( hartford)
2- I applied in April 31 2009. My sponsor was from CT and my wife is the petitioner
3- They received my cases and cashed the checks June 10 2009
5- In July 31 I did my biometrics test ( finger print )
6- In Aug 2009 we moved to Michigan and My lawyer is going to transfer the case to MI
8- october 21 they requested some evidence
9- Nov 2009 they requested that the sponsor and the petitioner should have the same address???
10- I changed my sponsor and I have a new one from Michigan.
11- January 9 2010 they accepted that.
12- Feb 3 my Lawyer surprised me and told me that I have an interview in Hartford,CT even tho she changed every thing to MI. She said she has the proof that she changed the address but it didn't update in the system and she blamed the system. she said she is going to reschedule my appointment to MI and she said the are going to send me a new notice in 2 to 3 weeks.
13- Feb 8 2010 they ordered my EAD card.
14- Feb 9 they mailed me a notice that they approved my I-765.
15- My lawyer said they sent my EAD card and the notice to my old address in CT and she said they went back to them and they will re send it to my new address in MI.
16- Feb 22 as of today they updated all my cases but without any new info ( just the dates)
17- I am so confused and I have those questions:
A) Did my case transfer to MI or nothing happen since I moved?
B) how long does it take to get everthing back to the right way?
C) what is going to happen to my EAD card and the NOTICE?

Today I will be giving a presentation on immigration law along with my colleague, V. Thomas Langford, to the Air Force JAG serving at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. The Air Force JAG Corps are lawyers who provide legal advice to those serving in the Air Force.
Our training today will focus on the basics of immigration law. We will be covering family-based immigration law and outlining the procedures involved in petitioning for a family member to immigrate to the United States. We will also be talking about the Violence Against Women Act ("VAWA") and how an individual may self-petition for immigration status if he or she has been the victim of abuse or mental cruelty. Finally, we will discuss the naturalization laws as they apply to those serving in the military at a time of a conflict.
It seems that I always learn something while preparing for a presentation. While preparing for this one, I learned that staff from USCIS in Sacramento go to Travis Air Force Base twice a month to interview applicants for naturalization and administer the oath of citizenship on the same day. Kudos to USCIS for taking the time to do this. I have a 4 year college degree from the US and 5 years of experience. I would like to know when they say 5 years of progressive experience does also that include an increase in salary over the five years? My previous employer paid me 60kper anum but my new employer is paying me 55k per anum. There is drop in salary by 5 thousand. Will this affect my application. Please advise. Thanks much!

I m an MBA(major:general mba)student in a university in texas. I have an bachelors of engineeing (electrical & electronics)from india. I have found an desi employer who is ready to train me in SAP (FICO)functional and than place me on projects to diffeent companies. Since i m graduating in august 2008 ,At first i have to work for him on OPT and than in apil 2009 my employer will sponcer my h1 visa.
Now my question is....
1) can i work in SAP FICO functional , when i m on my opt?(opt means i have to work in a job directly related to my major field of study and i guess SAP is not related to my field major field of study)
2)will i have problems getting a h1b visa? (since General MBA and SAP are completely different fields )
Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Can anyone be kind enough to tell me how to talk to a real person at the Vermont Service center? It has been over a month since my employer received the receipt number from USCIS, but the case cannot be found online. I tried calling the number below, but the robot that talks says the same detais that I can find online.
"Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

When you have finished submitting new address the system will prompt you asking if you have any pending applications with USCIS. At that time enter the receipt numbers of all pending applications. This will do the needful. You can track the success by checking the case status in few days you can see a soft LUD on your pending applications. Also in few weeks you will receive a letter from USCIS at your new address that tells that they have updated the address. Some folks even call USCIS and verify the address change.
